  • A newly introduced competition in OGDC
  • OGDC Science Show Competition challenges team to communicate science through live demonstration that incorporates the element of performing arts
  • To make the learning of science more fun and interactive

OBJECTIVE OF COMPETITION
  • To stimulate the creativity and innovation within students in communicating science
  • To find that potential young candidate and produce a Young Science Ambassador through inculcating the culture of science

COMPETITION FORMAT
  • Per team consists of 2 students
  • Teams are required to perform a 5 minute show for the preliminary rounds
  • Teams are required to perform a 10 minute show for the final
  • Shows may range from various science topics
  • Shows should have a series of demonstrations
  • Shows are delivered in English only

COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATION
  • Participants are not allowed to touch on sensitive issues such as religion, race and politics throughout their presentations
  • Participants must be appropriately attired. Wearing of costumes is in accordance with the team's own creativity and should not pose as a hindrance to the smooth flow of the team's performance
  • Priority will be given to the teams utilising recycled materials or the 3R concept and the usage of everyday used materials are encouraged
  • Participants are discouraged from using hazardous, flammable and poisonous materials. Safety measures or precautionary steps must be observed whilst using such mentioned materials
  • The school is responsible in ensuring the safety conduct of the participants and that competition's rules are adhered to

  • Year 7 until Year 8 Category: BND$20
  • Year 9 until Pre U Category: BND$25

PRIZES
LOWER SECONDARY CATEGORY(Year 7 until Year 8)

  • 1st Prize BND$600 + 30 free OGDC Explor-A Saurus tickets for school
  • 2nd Prize BND$300 + 20 free OGDC Explor-A Saurus tickets for school
  • 3rd Prize BND$200 + 15 free OGDC Explor-A Saurus tickets for school
  • Best Performer BND$100
  • Medal and Certificates

UPPER SECONDARY CATEGORY (Year 9 until Pre U)

  • 1st Prize BND$700 + 30 free OGDC Explor-A Saurus tickets for school
  • 2nd Prize BND$400 + 20 free OGDC Explor-A Saurus tickets for school
  • 3rd Prize BND$300 + 15 free OGDC Explor-A Saurus tickets for school
  • Best Performer BND$100
  • Medal and Certificates
